Anni Snyman is a South African artist based in Johannesburg. Anni is also one of the Co-founders of the Site_Specific Collective. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Stellenbosch and spent five years in the design industry. Hereafter, she spent a decade teaching and developing creative process curricula in the design and communications industry. A deep environmental concern and joy found in collaborative processes lie at the heart of Anni’s art. Early in her career she mainly produced for traditional media and gallery spaces, with print, paint and sculpted media, stage, book and video productions. In the past 10 years her work has predominantly been focused on land and nature art, including large scale nature installations and cultural events with PC Janse van Rensburg and the Site_Specific Collective. Anni contributed the drawings to several short animation films directed by katty vandenberghe, one of which has been nominated for KROK international animation festival. She has also been invited to attend various conferences and art projects in different parts of the world.
